Macaw on the wing

This is my all-time favourite photo of a Blue-and-gold macaw and continues to adorn the desktop of my laptop to this day. It was taken one early morning from the tower at Posada in 2006. I heard the raucaus call of an approaching flock of six individuals. I started shooting the larger group of four, when I realised that a pair was about to pass much closer to me. I panned in and held the 'take' button, swearing under my breath that my temperamental camera would take the shot. It did, and the result has kept me happy ever since.
